Who is responsible for your information

Your child's centre, the nursery, decides what information is recorded in Masar and who may see it. Under data-protection law the nursery is the controller of that information. Rowwad Advisory & Business Solutions processes it on the nursery's behalf as its processor.

How you get an account

There is no sign-up inside Masar. The nursery creates your account and sends you your sign-in details. Parents see only the children the nursery has linked to them. Staff see only the rooms they are assigned to.

Information the app handles

Masar handles the following kinds of information, all of it recorded by the nursery or sent by you through the app.

• Account information: your name, email address and role, and the language you choose.
• Children's information recorded by the nursery: name, class, attendance, meals, naps, temperature checks, notes about the day, absence reports, and documents the nursery keeps on file.
• Photos: pictures the nursery's staff take and share with the families of the children in them. Parents can save these to their own phone.
• Messages and notices: messages between families and the nursery, announcements, polls and permission forms, and your answers to them.
• Pick-up requests: when you ask to collect your child, the request and its status.
• Billing information shown to you: invoices and receipts issued by the nursery. Masar does not collect card details. Where the nursery enables online payment, you pay on the payment provider's own page.
• Device information for notifications: a push-notification token for your device, so the nursery can reach you. The app does not read your location, contacts, calendar, microphone or files.

Why it is handled

To run the nursery's day and keep families informed: attendance and care records, sharing the day with families, secure messaging, pick-up, billing and notifications. Masar does not use your information for advertising and contains no advertising.

Who can see it

Only the nursery's authorised staff and the family members the nursery links to a child. Each centre's information is kept separate from every other centre's. Rowwad's own staff do not routinely access children's information, and any access for support is logged.

Information is not sold. It is shared with service providers only as needed to run the service: hosting, push-notification delivery, email and, where the nursery enables it, payment processing, under contracts that restrict their use of it.

Security

Information travels encrypted over TLS and is stored in access-controlled systems where each centre's data is isolated at the database level. Photos and documents are private and served only through short-lived signed links. Passwords are never stored or shown in plain text.

Where it is stored and for how long

Information is stored on servers in the European Union operated for Rowwad by Hetzner. The nursery sets how long records are kept: for the duration of a child's enrolment and afterwards for as long as the nursery's own record-keeping duties require. Records are archived rather than silently deleted so the nursery can meet those duties, and are deleted at the end of the retention period.

Your choices and rights

You may ask the nursery to correct information about you or your child, to provide a copy of it, or to delete it, subject to the nursery's legal duties. You can turn off notifications in the app or on your phone at any time.

If you are not satisfied with the nursery's answer you may contact us, and you have the right to raise a concern with the competent data-protection authority in Qatar.

Children

Masar is used by adults: parents, guardians and nursery staff. Children do not use the app and do not create accounts. Information about children is recorded by the nursery and shown only to that child's linked family.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new last-updated date, and the nursery will be told of significant changes.

This website

When you ask for a demo through the site, what you enter is emailed to us and you receive a confirmation by email. We use it only to reply and arrange the demonstration, and we do not add it to any marketing list.

Google Analytics helps us see which pages are useful. Until you decide in the banner it receives only anonymous counts, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you. If you accept, it sets cookies so repeat visits can be told apart. It never receives anything you type into a form, and you can change your choice at any time from the footer.
